CO–LAB Design Office is led by Joshua Beck + Joana Gomes. The office frequently collaborates with a diverse network of professionals to meet the specific needs of each project.

Joshua Beck, was born in Illinois in 1973. He received a Bachelor of Environmental Design from CU Boulder in 1996. In 2004 he received a Master of Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley. From 2005 through 2009 he worked as an Architect and Project Leader at Rem Koolhaas's Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam, Holland. At OMA he worked on a wide range of buildings, masterplans, competitions, exhibitions, and publications. He was Project Leader of the renovation of the Los Angeles PRADA store and several other projects in Holland. He has taught design and drawing classes at UC Berkeley and CU Boulder. Josh is also a trained wooden boat builder and skilled craftsman. He is a licensed architect in Holland. In 2010 he established CO-LAB Design Office with Joana Gomes. Contact Joshua CV Joshua

Joana Gomes, was born in 1981 in Portugal. She graduated in architecture from the Oporto University (FAUP) in 2005. From 2006 through 2009 she worked at MVRDV in Rotterdam, Holland where she worked on a wide range of projects including: buildings, masterplans, competitions, exhibitions, and publications. In 2009 she joined Fernando Romero's LAR office as Director of their Los Angeles office. In 2010 Joana was appointed the Director of LAR's main office in Mexico City. As director she oversees a wide range of projects including competitions, publications and commissions. She frequently lectures in Mexico representing Fernando Romero.
